How it Started:
I started my podcast 9 years ago in November while I was pregnant with my oldest son. I had no idea what a podcast was, and I don't recall why I wanted to, I think my videographer said I should give it a try.
I remember my first few episodes I just read my blog posts. Some probably didn't translate well, but it was a start! In 2017 I decided I would start having guests on my show. Mary Bue a local yoga studio owner and teacher I met at a local networking event and asked if she could be my first guest, shockingly she said yes! We were off and running.
My first interview is so many episodes ago I can't even link the archive!
You can listen to her episode from January of 2024 here
My Topics Throughout the 9 years
Celebrating 9 years of the Peaceful Power Podcast is a major milestone! Looking back, here are some key highlights and recurring themes that have shaped the podcast over the years:
1. Ayurvedic Wisdom and Holistic Healing: Ayurveda has been a significant focus, from discussing remedies for inner and outer beauty, postpartum fitness, and seasonal living, to interviews with experts like Rina Chandarana, Nidhi Pandya, and Osi Mizrahi. The connection between mind, body, and spirit, along with the importance of balancing doshas, especially Vata, has been a recurring theme.
2. Women's Wellness: Supporting women's health has been central, with deep dives into topics like postpartum care, digestion, and how yoga can help manage anxiety and depression. There’s also a strong focus on how women can better understand their bodies, especially through different life stages, such as postpartum and after age 40, exploring weight loss, hormones, gut health, and detoxification.
3. Spirituality and Personal Growth: Astrology, birth charts, and cosmic shifts have appeared in episodes like the interview with Crystal Kohler. Spiritual practices such as cacao ceremonies, as discussed with Sarah Draayer-Cherry, have also woven into the podcast, blending physical and spiritual wellness.
4. Practical Approaches to Fitness: Over the years, there’s been a consistent focus on practical fitness that’s aligned with holistic health, particularly within the Ayurvedic lens. Emphasis on gentle fitness postpartum and approaches that respect women’s changing bodies and rhythms has been pivotal.
5. Guests and Expert Interviews: From Hallmark actors like Steve Basic discussing creativity to Ayurvedic experts and spiritual healers, the podcast has highlighted a diverse range of voices. These guests have brought unique perspectives on everything from entertainment to health and spiritual well-being.
