Ayurveda & the Lunar Cycle
The lunar cycle and the menstrual cycle both follow a 28.5 day process. There are 4 main phases that arise each month. The lunar cycle and the menstrual cycle are synced up in many ways. That doesn't mean that if you bleed on a full moon vs a new moon that there is something wrong with you. Sometimes are menstrual cycle syncs and sometimes it doesn't.
Let's dive into a few practices to incorporate under each phase of the moon.
Full Moon
During the full moon it's a wonderful time to embrace aroma therapy, warm baths, healing gems according to your dosha, and other ojas building activities. This time of the moon is associated with the pitta dosha and the summer season.
The Dosha & the Gems
Vata Dosha- Jasper, Smoky Quartz, Obsidian or black tourmaline. These gems are grounding and earthy to help promote a calmness in the vata dosha.
Pitta Dosha- Pearls, moonstones, amethyst, emerald, citrine. These crystals help cool the mind and body. They bring a lightness to an intense pitta imbalance.
Kapha Dosha- Ruby, garnet, carnelian. These help cultivate inner strength and extra mojo to get things done for a sluggish kapha imbalance feeling.
Ojas Building activities
- Laughter- have some fun with your girlfriends
- Get outside in nature
- Add ghee or dates to your recipes
- Abhyanga- self-massage
- Yoga

Waning Moon
The waning moon is when the moon starts to lose its fullness, preparing for the dark moon. This phase is associated with the vata dosha & the fall season. This is a great time to continue to build your ojas during the early waning moon phase. As it gets closer to a new moon notice how it affects your energy and mood. Often the mood tends to feel inwards and introspective sometimes a bit feisty.
Practices for this phase:
- Me time
- Epsom salt baths
- Restorative or yin yoga
- Meditation
- Goal setting or planning
- Reiki for reducing fear in your life or a limiting belief

IT'S TIME TO STOP PUTTING A
BAND-AID ON A LARGER ISSUE...
I get asked by women who want to lose weight what workouts should I be doing & what should I be eating? But the underlying problem isn't their workouts or nutrition it's disconnection from self.
We have lost the connection to our bodies & our minds, we numb out, and we don't understand how to slow down & take care of ourselves anymore.
That is why I created this program. I felt I was doing a disservice being in the personal training industry by putting a band-aid on a much larger problem.
We are asking the wrong questions to the wrong people. It's time to trust you again.
