Why live a cyclical life?

My journey has had many twists & turns…

Lost. Unhappy. On auto-pilot. And... Stuck in the Should's of Life.

That was how I would have described myself in 2012. That was the year I started my own business, SaFire Training.  I cringe at the way I thought of health & wellness back then. I thought workouts needed to be an hour, you had to eat healthy at all times, and walking didn't "count" as exercise.
Being by myself felt like torture & that's when I knew something had to shift
I used to pack my schedule so full I had to write clipping my fingernails on my to do list, seriously 🤦🏼‍♀️
I hated being by myself and having free time, I didn't know what I wanted. I was afraid of what my inner self really thought about how my life looked.

Looking back I felt lost and not quite sure how to start living a more intentional life.

Let's go from where you are to where you long to be.
I help women live seasonally, to increase their energy & gain a deeper connection to themselves & nature.
I strive to help women learn the benefits of slowing down, tuning in & connecting to their inner wise woman.

I know how hard it is to feel called to soften your edges

but you're afraid of looking weak. At the same time you can feel your body slowly shutting down. You feel as if you're running on fumes. You get sick when you finally take a vacation, you feel broken, but I promise you you're not.

Now my mission is to help women live a more cyclical life

Let's increase your energy, soften your edges but still maintain your drive to achieve your goals.

Sound too good to be true?

It's not.

This is why I'm so passionate about living a seasonal life and moving my body with my cycle and not fighting against it on low energy days.
That's why all of my offerings are around the seasons or our moon cycles.

Seasonal & cyclical living is our secret sauce as women

and now is the time for us to learn more about ourselves and step into our own divine body wisdom.

Benefits of cyclical living

  • Better mental & physical health
  • More energy
  • Reduced PMS symptoms
  • Smoother transition into menopause
  • Enhance productivity and know when you need to rest

The 4 Major Phases

I will share a tweak a client has made to help live more in alignment with their cycles.

menstrual phase (1)

Menstrual Phase

This is the phase to go inwards, rest and reflect.

Katie, a mom of 4 was running on fumes. She has ADHD, large blood clots during the bleeding phase and no time for her. A tweak we made to her routine was to rest in particular when she had no energy during the menstrual phase. When 3 of her 4 kids were in school we added a yoga nidra practice to her afternoon routine. Her youngest daughter got to watch a 30 minute cartoon, while Katie got to relax. It only took a few months before her large blood clots (bigger than a quarter) were gone.

2
follicular

Follicular Phase

A time you might have energy, feel full of life and tap into your inner creative side.

Samantha, a teacher who found herself entering the follicular phase with a vata imbalance. The menstrual phase is associated with the vata dosha. If you go a bit too hard during that phase the follicular phase might feel a big unhinged. Now is not the time for Samantha to stop her mindfulness practices as she often did. She would often do a more high intensity workout, and found herself having an afternoon espresso which further hyped up her mood. A few tweaks we made were doing yoga vs high intensity at this phase for a few months, making sure she went to bed at the same time no matter her cycle phase so she wouldn't skip her meditation practice and have an afternoon tea vs an espresso. Anytime you're dealing with a vata imbalance it takes a few months so being consistent is key.

3
ovulation

Ovulation Phase

A time to be seen, do your speaking gigs, run meetings, record podcasts. Your energy is magnetic right now.

Lisa an entrepreneur who struggles with endometriosis was not enjoying her ovulation phase. Haritaki is an Ayurvedic herb that has been proven to help reduce endo pain. She started taking this supplement daily. She did weekly yoni steams & castor oil pack rotations minus the menstrual phase. Endo is a vata disorder in Ayurveda and apana vayu is flowing in reverse. We also had various vata reducing practices. I worked with Lisa for a year and she had no more painful ovulation or even painful periods after the practices we implemented.

autumn

Luteal Phase

This phase is the longest phase of your cycle and can be broken into 2 parts. You might have higher energy at the start of the luteal phase and the second half is the lower energy part of the cycle. A great time to finish up tasks, complete to do lists and start to say no to things you don't really want to do.

Robin, a 44 year old mom of two was experiencing severe PMS symptoms the week before her period. She would gain weight, have severe mood swings, and would break out like her teenage daughter. A few practices we implemented to help ease her luteal phase symptoms were- stress management. She is an entrepreneur, a lawyer who has been struggling with consciousness the last few years. We worked on mapping out her stress cycles to see what time of day and what her triggers are that cause her stress response. I also gave her a new morning routine consisting of meditation, yoga, and pranayama to help her ease her mind and body. She has been a client personal client for many years before we switched into the new practices. She found relief after a few months of adopting her new flow.

Self-Care with your Cycle Challenge

I just want someone to tell me what to do, I'm exhausted, burnt out and don't have the time to create a self-care plan for myself, are you feeling this way too? That's what many women have been telling me, especially after the last 2 years. That's why I wanted to create a self-care plan that flowed with your menstrual cycle. I wanted to take the guesswork out of self-care and reward you with prizes along the way!
Instead of starting the day with a decision of "what should I do today?" Start your day with a clear plan. This program is geared to help you take away the decision fatigue many of us are feeling right now. You can look at your self-care calendar and you know how to make space for you that matches with your menstrual cycle needs. Most self-care programs miss the menstrual cycle as being a guide. Your bleeding phase you will naturally have less energy and start to feel introspective. Use that time to connect with your inner wisdom vs trying to do a more outward self-care focus.

I'm super excited to have a weekly prizes (examples: oracle decks, teas, books, and candles) and one overall prize box winner to help hold you accountable to making space for yourself. All you have to do is block 10-20 minutes a day for you! If this is something you feel called to join we start the 4 week challenge May 2nd!
