The Right Pairing on and off the mat

The Way Home

If anyone else is a Hallmark fan you might have seen this show called The Way Home — it's also on Netflix right now. Season 4 just aired and it's supposed to be the last season, fingers crossed Netflix will pick it up.

It is about a time traveling family with flaws, with love for each other, their town, but are human. We've (Eric & I) been reviewing this show on my Hallmark Mysteries & More podcast. We've had ups and downs — I tend to rate it a bit higher than he does. He's a fan of time travel and I'm a fan of cozy small towns in our Hallmark content.

We also got screeners for this series so I've seen all 10 episodes but won't spoil anything for you here. I was moved to tears after episode 9 as Auld Lang Syne was sung at the end — major things happened, and that song always gets me when paired well. Think Sex and the City, the first movie, when Carrie runs across town to be with Miranda on New Year's Eve. Perfect pairing.

That idea of the right pairing? It shows up everywhere once you start looking. This can also be seen in Ayurveda. The philosophy is: it depends. That is the answer most of the time. Should I have this Nixie sparkling water on a hot June day? It depends. Should I attend the vinyasa or yin yoga class? It depends.

Just like in The Way Home, the right pairing of song with action can make you feel all the feelings. That is the same with Ayurveda. Nail your "it depends" habits and you'll feel your best from the inside out.

I have opened up a new 1:1 eight-week Yoga and Ayurveda program. We can meet in-person or virtual. I crafted this for those "it depends" questions — so you can have those answers for yourself. Learning Ayurveda can be like learning a new language and seeing the world through a different lens. If you have any questions hit reply and let me know — or if you watch The Way Home, or maybe start it on Netflix, let me know how it lands for you! Season 1 and 4 have been my favorites so far!

Where Eric and I Land on Season 4

As always, Eric and I didn't see eye to eye on every episode — and that's what makes these reviews fun. He brings the analytical time-travel logic lens and I bring the emotional, atmosphere-driven take. Together we break down what worked, what felt rushed, and whether this season did justice to the story they've been building.

My personal ranking? Season 1 and Season 4 are my favorites. There's a full-circle quality to this final season that felt earned — even when it was imperfect.

The Bigger Takeaway

What The Way Home keeps reminding me is that the right pairing changes everything. The right song. The right moment. The right timing. This is something I think about a lot in my Ayurveda work too — so much of that philosophy comes down to it depends. The right habit at the right time for the right person. When you get that pairing right, you feel it in your whole body.

That's what great storytelling does too. It makes you feel it.
