Let's get those summer rituals on point!

Mid-Summer Slump, I don't think so!

  • It’s summer, it’s hot, and your body is speaking—maybe through irritation, inflammation, restlessness, or fatigue.
  • Let's talk about the common urge to cool down by numbing out: wine on the patio, nightly ice cream, endless scrolling.
  • But what if cooling down could actually reconnect you to your body, not disconnect you?

"In today’s episode, I'm talking about how to truly cool down during Pitta season in a way that nourishes your feminine body and doesn’t lead to burnout, depletion, or disconnection."

Part 1: Why We Numb Out in Summer

  • Pitta = fire + water. In balance: focused, passionate, radiant. Out of balance: snappy, overheated, overwhelmed.
  • In our hypermasculine culture, "doing" doesn’t stop—even when nature invites us to slow down.
  • Many women unconsciously turn to numbing behaviors as a coping mechanism for the burnout and emotional heat.

Common signs of numbing out:

  • Reaching for sugar or rosé to “take the edge off”
  • Losing time on Instagram or TikTok
  • Overworking or overexercising to "push through"

Part 2: What It Really Means to Cool Down

  • Cooling down ≠ checking out
  • Cooling down = creating space for rest, softness, and feminine presence
  • This is the season to deepen into yin, not fuel more yang

Part 3: Ayurvedic Cooling Tools for the Feminine Body

Offer gentle, simple tools that align with body, mind, and heart:

BODY

  • Chandra Bhedana (cooling breath practice to invoke the lunar energy)

  • Coconut oil abhyanga (especially to calm inflammation and overworked muscles)
  • Pitta-pacifying foods: think cucumber, watermelon, mint, aloe juice, and lots of bitter greens
  • Cooling yoga: lunar flows, yin or restorative, especially in the evening

MIND

  • Digital detox time—especially from hot hours of 10am–2pm
  • Moon-gazing as an evening ritual
  • Journaling to release mental fire: “What am I pushing too hard right now?”

EMOTIONS

  • Honor sacred rage: fire is a teacher, not a curse
  • Practice compassion and patience—first with yourself
  • Take pauses to feel instead of stuff or scroll

Part 4: Invitation to Go Deeper — Mini Cool-Down Challenge

  • Invite listeners into a 3-Day Mini Cool-Down Challenge starting July 22.
  • Share what to expect: private Instagram channel, daily pitta-pacifying tools, no overwhelm—just gentle summer feminine reset.
  • Great for anyone feeling overstimulated, reactive, or depleted.

Closing

  • “This summer, let’s cool down by tuning in—not checking out.”
  • Mindset shift: from numbing to nourishing.
  • CTA: Sign up for the Mini Cool-Down Challenge (link in show notes), share this with a friend who’s feeling the heat, and tag @seasonalandrea if you try any practices.

LEarn My Story

My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not linear, but cyclical—like the seasons, like the womb. I help women reclaim their vitality through the sacred tools of Ayurveda, embodied movement, and intuitive rituals drawn from Mother Nature herself.

After the birth of my first son in 2016, Ayurveda became more than a practice—it became my lifeline. The postpartum window cracked me open and reoriented my path, deepening my devotion to supporting women in every season of life—from the fertile soil of postpartum to the sacred shifts of midlife.

I’m also the host of the Peaceful Power Podcast, where I explore how ancient wisdom meets modern life, and the author of two books on cyclical living—Divine Body Wisdom and Ayurvedic Approach to Healing Your Menstrual Cycle.

When I’m not in sacred space with clients, you can find me playing tennis, watching Hallmark mysteries, sipping my morning coffee with reverence, or adventuring on nature trails with my two boys and husband.

an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor & Postpartum Doula, 500 HR Yoga Teacher, and Personal Trainer who has been guiding women back to their inner rhythms since 2007.
