Summer

Creating Seasonal Themes for Your Life from an Ayurvedic & Yogic Lens

I want to continue to bring this weave throughout the entire year on the podcast. Being intentional on how you move throughout your year.

Seasonal living means tuning into what's real for you at each season. I sat with myself and did a mini meditation clearing things out to see what word would come through for my spring season.

A question you could ask yourself- what am I craving right now?

Connection was my answer

Welcome back to the Peaceful Power Podcast. As we step into the fire and fullness of summer, it’s the perfect time to pause—not to push harder, but to realign with your own seasonal rhythm.

In Ayurveda, summer is ruled by the Pitta dosha—which means fire, transformation, drive, and intensity. While that energy can be empowering, it can also lead to burnout if we don’t balance it with softness, play, and intention.

Today, we’re setting your seasonal theme for summer—a guiding word or intention to help you stay rooted while life heats up. Whether you’re juggling family, perimenopause, or postpartum healing, this small but powerful ritual brings clarity and soul nourishment to your days.

Why Set a Seasonal Theme?

A seasonal theme is more than a cute word—it’s an anchor.

In the blur of long days, social invitations, and rising internal heat (hello, perimenopause or postpartum emotions!), your seasonal word becomes a gentle nudge back to what matters.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what aligns.

Your theme helps you:

  • Stay grounded in what you truly need

  • Say no to what doesn’t serve you

  • Create rituals and routines that support your nervous system

  • Feel connected to your inner wisdom, not just the world’s noise

Ayurvedic Wisdom for Summer Themes

In Ayurveda, summer is all about managing the fire element—both literally and emotionally.

So, consider choosing words that invite:

  • Cooling (emotionally, mentally, and physically)

  • Softening (to avoid the sharp edge of pitta energy)

  • Receiving (instead of pushing or proving)

Here are some summer theme ideas to inspire you:
Flow – to remind you to stop forcing and start trusting
Savor – to fully experience moments of joy and pleasure
Ease – to help you soften around the edges of perfectionism
Nourish – to care for yourself on all levels: food, rest, touch
Radiate – to shine, but without burning out
Presence – to live inside your body, breath, and now

Summer Practices I'm leaning into:

  • Slow walks on my favorite nature trail
  • Yin Yoga Practice
  • Castor Oil Packs
  • Journaling and pulling Oracle Cards
  • Mantra practice
  • Keep social media down to 1 hour a day on all platforms
  • Strength train 4x a week
  • Play tennis 1x a week
  • Yoga Nidra 4x a week
  • Read nightly
  • Svadhyaya
  • Rosewater Spritz
  • Peppermint Tea- cooled
  • Lying on the floor nothing to do just rest

A Guided Reflection to Choose Your Word

Take a few moments with your journal and ask:

  1. What do I need more of this season to feel like myself?

  2. Where am I feeling the most tension or heat—physically or emotionally?

  3. What word would feel like a balm when I speak it out loud?

Your word may come right away or it may rise gently over the next few days. Either way, trust that your body and soul already know.

Rituals to Anchor Your Summer Theme

Once you choose your word, anchor it in your daily rhythm:

  • Write it on a sticky note and place it on your bathroom mirror
  • Create a simple altar or space with a color or object that represents your word
  • Say it silently to yourself during your morning routine or walks
  • Use it as a journaling prompt or meditation mantra
  • Let it guide decisions—ask, Does this support my summer theme?

Summer Wellness Goals

I plan to lift weights 4x a week, play tennis once a week and practice a mid-day yoga nidra 4x a week.

Sankalpa

Whether your word is bold or soft, fiery or fluid—let it be a compass, not a checklist.

This summer, you don’t need to hustle to be worthy.
You need to remember who you are—and build your days around that knowing.

LEarn My Story

My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not linear, but cyclical—like the seasons, like the womb. I help women reclaim their vitality through the sacred tools of Ayurveda, embodied movement, and intuitive rituals drawn from Mother Nature herself.

After the birth of my first son in 2016, Ayurveda became more than a practice—it became my lifeline. The postpartum window cracked me open and reoriented my path, deepening my devotion to supporting women in every season of life—from the fertile soil of postpartum to the sacred shifts of midlife.

I’m also the host of the Peaceful Power Podcast, where I explore how ancient wisdom meets modern life, and the author of two books on cyclical living—Divine Body Wisdom and Ayurvedic Approach to Healing Your Menstrual Cycle.

When I’m not in sacred space with clients, you can find me playing tennis, watching Hallmark mysteries, sipping my morning coffee with reverence, or adventuring on nature trails with my two boys and husband.

an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor & Postpartum Doula, 500 HR Yoga Teacher, and Personal Trainer who has been guiding women back to their inner rhythms since 2007.
