Working on my Energy

As I was thinking about what I wanted to share this week on the podcast, I thought I want to talk about Energy.

My son and I went to the salt cave like we usually do most Sundays for the past six months. The salt cave is where me and my two year old go when my oldest child is at his yoga class. Some weeks are a wonderful relaxation process and others are more chaotic and we have to leave early. For the most part it is a calming experience and one that I've noticed we are able to keep most respiratory issues away. In March we didn't go as much as there was no yoga class and of course we got colds and coughs. Personally I've seen enough to know it works for us and will be doing this again next winter.

Now connecting the salt cave to my energy work..

There was a new person working the salt cave and it was not Amee. She is the only person who works at the salt cave that we’ve ever met. This new person was delightful, but not the same energy.

That got me to thinking let’s chat about Energy and then as I was thinking about what else I wanted to share about Energy I realized I signed up for two programs that were working on energy. One was working on the energy of your essence you’re being staying in alignment with who you are The other working on your actual physical energy when you feel dog tired and you’re not sure why that type of energy.

So clearly that’s top of mind whether I realized it or not and something I want to share more about my experience and how I’m going about both of these areas.

I signed up for Sarah Jenks initiation program last November. We just completed our six month journey at the end of March. We were working on our energy our essence are who we are who we present to the world. I’m huge into energy. I either connect with someone energetically or I don’t. Sometimes I can get there with people, but I’m very sensitive to how this person is expressing will we ever be on the same wavelength and sometimes the answer is just no and that’s OK.

Lessons from the retreat

I went to the Initiation retreat in November at Sarah Jenks house. I found I could drop fully into my energy while I was there. I felt completely at home with me. I presented myself as I truly feel. That was our work that weekend.

At the end of the retreat Sarah had us all circle up and looked everyone in the eye she would sometimes ask you a question or statement. When it got to me I was in alignment and nothing was needed.

Now since being home and fighting the respiratory bug I am getting back to my energy once more..I will share how later.

I also signed up in January to work on my Sankalpa for 6 to 12 months. A Sankalpa is a life, affirming practice that starts from radical premise that you are already who you need to be to fulfill your life’s Dharma or purpose. All you have to do is focus your mind and connect to your most heartfelt desires and channel that divine energy within.

So again, working on my energy.

The next program I signed up for is with Senia  from healing insight in St Paul. She’s a doctor of acupuncture in Chinese medicine. She came heavily referred and I really wanted to have my labs done Postpartum and since my regular doctor wouldn’t run any that was part of Senia‘s Optimal energy program 10 week group coaching program.

Not only did I get all of my labs read, we also did a food sensitivity test, and additional hormonal bloodwork. I have found it in valuable to see where my numbers are at and to see why my energy might not be where it should be. For example, my vitamin D levels were off the charts low and my DHEA levels were off the chart low. Which means burn out, adrenal fatigue, which means I did not even realize how poor I have been actually feeling because I’ve had basically two years of sleep deprivation.

What I'm taking

The supplements that came through for me to incorporate are:

  • Vitamin D
  • B12
  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Two Immortals
  • Relaxed Wanderer
  • Astra Essence

For me I'm noticing I don't need an afternoon pick me up latte anymore, I'm sleeping through the night most evenings, I do have better energy throughout my day.

Do you know what is really hard to do?

Be in your actual true essence energy when you’re exhausted when you are suffering burnout, you cannot get there no matter how hard you try.

So between both programs, I’m finding myself again.
