My Cleanse this year
My goal going into the cleanse this year was to do a 7 day cleanse. It ended up being 5 days. My body knew after 5 days it was done. I felt good but was feeling a bit to flighty and not enough food was being consumed. So I called the cleanse early.
I personally ate kitchari and drank bone broth for the cleanse this year. I drank a lot of tea, and gave up coffee for the first time ever during a cleanse.
The first two days I had a lack of caffeine headache. It went away and I felt really good. I was fully emptying my bowels, I wasn't hungry but did feel the lightness from not snacking all day. I also realized how many times I mindlessly snack during the day.
Leaving the cleanse this year I thought I had kicked my coffee habit but alas it came back. One thing that has stuck was my awareness of my snacking. I am much more strict about when I eat and why. I try to eat when hungry and not just bored. I also really feel the call to watch what I consume.
Right now there is so much negativity, and judgement and anger in the air. I refuse to participate on a daily basis with the energy going on. I don't need to stay on social media all day long. I don't need to constantly be listening to a podcast, or watching tv. I really found a good place with letting things go.
I will do another cleanse in the spring and look forward to new insights and maybe kicking the coffee habit for good!
