Movie: Christmas At Graceland: Home For The Holidays

Background on the movie

The leading actress is a tour guide who has traveled all over the world and is interviewing with an art museum to have a position with both Memphis & London. The leading actor is a CEO who is a single dad of 3. The dad is a stickler for the schedule and really likes to follow his plan with no wiggle room for fun. The leading lady becomes their nanny during the holidays and brings in more holiday cheer to the kiddos. The leading guy has to create a unique fundraising event and his nanny is here to help him pull it off after they went to an event where his peer threw an event identical to the one he had planned.

Priscilla Presley is in the movie and lets everyone decorate the tree with her as she tells the story of her and Elvis and how they use to celebrate their Christmas together.

What worked?

It checked all the Hallmark branches of baking cookies, singing Christmas carols, decorating a tree, being in a fancy setting, a budding romance, a problem to solve.

What didn't work?

The kids singing sounded like a professional choir every time they just randomly decided to sing.

3 Takeaways

  1. Elvis met Priscilla Presley when she was just 14 years old and married 8 years later after he left the military.
  2. It really doesn't snow as much in Memphis as is depicted in the movie.
  3. Is it common for families to sit around a piano & sing together? Me and my brothers missed out on that one!
