How to thrive in spring based on your dosha

Each dosha has unique qualities and energies depending on the time of year and each of the three doshas. Seasonal wisdom is something that just makes sense when you look through it from an Ayurvedic lens.

New to Ayurveda? Start here with learning about each of the three doshas.

Vata Dosha

Pitta Dosha

Kapha Dosha

Vata Dosha

  • Stick to your routines & try not to multitask
  • Dress in layers and cover your ears when outside on windy days
  • Eat warm, cooked spiced foods
  • Grounding activities throughout your day
  • Incorporate some yin and restorative yoga in your practice
  • Spend time in nature
  • Reduce stimulation

Pitta Dosha

  • Be mindful of how much warm spices you incorporate if you have a pitta imbalance
  • Enjoy anything from the mint family
  • Have a self-care practice you do daily
  • Start reducing practices that overheat you internally and externally.
  • Workouts can be more challenging
  • Restorative and yin yoga are still helpful to find the pitta balance if workouts are intense.

Kapha Dosha

  • Movement to start your day
  • Right nostril breathing 10 breaths
  • Enjoy lighter, easier to digest veggies
  • Perform 5 Rounds of Sun Salutations
  • Invite a friend to do morning walks together.
  • Enjoy a cup of chai in the afternoon as a treat with warming spices.
  • Start your day with kapalbhati

You will probably need a sprinkling of all three tips!

Head to vata practices when feeling:

  • Scattered
  • Cold
  • Anxiety ridden

Head to pitta practices when feeling:

  • Burnt out
  • Overwhelmed
  • Excess heat in the body

Head to Kapha practices when feeling:

  • Netflix and chill mode
  • Unmotivated
  • Stagnant in mind or body

Reminder we have all three doshas within us.

Like increases like and opposites heal according to Ayurveda.

LEarn My Story

My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not linear, but cyclical—like the seasons, like the womb. I help women reclaim their vitality through the sacred tools of Ayurveda, embodied movement, and intuitive rituals drawn from Mother Nature herself.

After the birth of my first son in 2016, Ayurveda became more than a practice—it became my lifeline. The postpartum window cracked me open and reoriented my path, deepening my devotion to supporting women in every season of life—from the fertile soil of postpartum to the sacred shifts of midlife.

I’m also the host of the Peaceful Power Podcast, where I explore how ancient wisdom meets modern life, and the author of two books on cyclical living—Divine Body Wisdom and Ayurvedic Approach to Healing Your Menstrual Cycle.

When I’m not in sacred space with clients, you can find me playing tennis, watching Hallmark mysteries, sipping my morning coffee with reverence, or adventuring on nature trails with my two boys and husband.

an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor & Postpartum Doula, 500 HR Yoga Teacher, and Personal Trainer who has been guiding women back to their inner rhythms since 2007.
