Slow Down & Tune In
This season isn’t asking us to try harder it’s asking us to listen differently.”
We’re standing at the edge of a year ending and another beginning, and in many traditions this is known as a liminal space a threshold. Not quite what was, not yet what’s coming. And thresholds can feel disorienting. Tender. Quietly emotional.
I want to name something I see again and again in the women I work with and maybe you feel this too. You’ve been doing the right things. You’re exercising. You’re eating well. You’re reading the books, listening to the podcasts, trying to “optimize” your health… and yet, something still feels off.
There’s a deeper fatigue. A kind of bone-level exhaustion. A sense that the strategies that once worked pushing, powering through, staying disciplined just don’t land the same anymore. And that can feel confusing. Even scary.
This is not a personal failure. This is not you falling behind. This is your body speaking from a wiser place. And today, I want to introduce or maybe re-introduce something I call Wise Woman Energy. Not as something we strive for or achieve, but something we remember. Something we return to when the old ways stop working.
What Burnout Is Really Telling Us
Burnout is often framed as a mindset issue like if you just thought differently, planned better, or managed your time more efficiently, you’d be fine. But burnout is not a mental weakness. It’s a body-based message.
Your nervous system. Your hormones. Your adrenals. Your digestion. They’ve been keeping score. And in perimenopause, the margin for overgiving gets smaller. The cost of overtraining gets higher. The recovery time from stress physical or emotional gets longer.
Perimenopause has a way of revealing truths we could once override. The workouts that once energized you now leave you depleted. The fasting that once felt empowering now leaves you anxious or exhausted. The “I’ll just push through” mentality stops working.
And there’s grief here. Real grief. Grief for the version of you who could do it all. Grief for the strategies you trusted. Grief for the identity of being the strong one, the capable one, the one who doesn’t need help.
If you’re feeling this, I want you to hear this clearly: nothing has gone wrong. Your body is not betraying you. It’s initiating you.
This is the moment many women wake up not because they’re broken, but because their wisdom has grown louder.
What ‘Wise Woman Energy’ Actually Means
Wise Woman Energy is not about slowing down into passivity. It’s about choosing rhythm over hustle.
It’s strength that includes recovery. Movement that supports your nervous system instead of draining it. It’s understanding that stillness is not weakness it’s power.
Wise Woman Energy asks different questions:
-
What season am I in?
-
What does my body need today not last year, not at 30, not before kids or burnout?
-
Where have I been overriding my intuition in the name of productivity or discipline?
This energy is deeply aligned with seasonal living honoring winter as a time of restoration, not resolution. It’s about nervous system safety: feeling safe enough to rest, to soften, to receive.
And for many women, it’s about reclaiming intuition after decades of being taught not to trust the body. After years of calorie counting, over-exercising, ignoring pain, ignoring fatigue. Wise Woman Energy is devotion to the body not control of it.
The Invitation of 2026
I don’t see 2026 as a year for pushing harder or becoming “better.” I see it as a year of sustainability. A year where we stop sacrificing ourselves in the name of health.
What if 2026 was the year you:
-
Trained with your hormones, not against them
-
Rested without guilt
-
Nourished instead of restricted
-
Asked for and received support
This is not about doing less forever. It’s about doing what actually works for the body you’re in now. This is the energetic foundation for everything ahead not just programs or plans, but a new relationship with yourself.
Gentle Seeding
As we move into January, I’m holding it as a time of learning and orienting not fixing. A time to understand what’s happening in your body and why the old rules no longer apply.
The Perimenopause Power Hour is a space to make sense of the shifts hormonally, emotionally, energetically. And the Wise Woman Reset is a longer, deeper initiation into embodied change strength, stillness, nourishment, and rhythm woven together.
“If your body is asking for a different way forward, I’ve created spaces in January to explore that together.”
Weekly Challenge
Before we close, I invite you to pause. If it feels safe, place a hand on your body your belly, your heart, your thighs, wherever you feel most present.
Ask yourself:
-
What am I no longer available for in 2026?
-
How do I want to honor my body in this next season?
You don’t need answers today. Just listen. This is Wise Woman Energy quiet, grounded, and already within you.
