Yin, Shakti & Love
This is the summer of Yin Energy for me.
That means I’m completing diving deeper into the subtle body with chakra work, practicing yin yoga on my own, and yoni steaming, castor oil packs and evening abhyanga practices.
I’m setting aside evening practices that are not calming in nature, just doing an active yoga practice at home, the extra cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon.
On one of my solo walks last week I noticed how most of my injuries are on my right side of the body. Which is the more yang side, the go, go, go energy that I have thrived on for years. I need to find a balance which to me looks like getting uncomfortable with true stillness and practices that relax and unwind me.
And as I usher out the old, I’m also calling in some newness. For me that is subtle body work. It is something I like to run from and avoid but it’s the summer of newness for me now that my 16 month old is sleeping through the night, finally! I can work on healing my nervous system from the lack of sleep and instead of the permission slip to do more, I’m taking that as a permission slip to do less and heal.
If you’re looking to do some yin healing and self-care this summer, join me in my upcoming Self-Care with Your Cycle Challenge starting July 15th! This is one of my absolute favorite challenges to run and has the best prize giveaway at the very end to one devoted cycle healer!
