Movie #1- Wedding Season
Are there flaws in this movie, for sure. The needing to locate a vinyl as the song can’t be played from Spotify seems like a bit of a stretch. Also telling the couple what happened seems like not that big of a deal. But this is also coming from someone who had a custom fake bouquet for her wedding that arrived an hour before the ceremony and I was totally chill about it, others were concerned if I didn’t have flowers 🤷🏼♀️
I enjoyed the friend dynamics and maybe spacing out the weddings would have been a better idea as to not stress out the group. I really enjoyed the leads and would love to see them in more movies. I also thought they had great chemistry that slow dance was 🔥.
I thought the movie moved at a good pace and had an interesting story with the three weddings. I enjoyed the adult conversations and not every ending was happy in the saying I do sense. There were realistic conversations and problems to solve.
Overall I thought this movie was cute. I typically don’t like the wedding movies but enjoyed the friend take on the weddings in this movie.
Since today is our 8th wedding anniversary I included some wedding pictures and one has my fake flowers referenced in the review.

Movie #2- Love's Greek to Me
Torrey is one of my favorite Hallmark leads and she did not disappoint. I love that her character had strong boundaries and stuck to her values. I also enjoyed seeing the American vs Greek heritage and differences in the cultures.
Greece was beautiful, the introductory shots they took of Greece were stunning. The churches are gorgeous in Greece.
Now onto some relationship issues. Which could ruin it for many.
The mother in law was quite overbearing but maybe it’s a Greek thing 🤷🏼♀️ I think the leading couple probably should have discussed if they wanted to live in Greece or Boston before getting engaged. That seems like a critical discussion. The fighting about you didn’t tell me about your potential job in Greece was a head scratcher after he didn’t tell her he wanted to move back to Greece at some point.
Lots of counseling words thrown around such as gaslighting, boundaries, and overbearing. Lots of boundary conversations needed from the actual daughter and her mom (besides the last 8 minutes of the movie). In the end Iiana and Mike probably shouldn’t marry they had plenty of red flags. That the movie didn’t resolve before it ended so it left you wanting more of the resolution between the two leads to decide it would be a good idea to marry.
Now all that being said I didn’t mind it 🤷🏼♀️ maybe it was the scenery, maybe Torrey but I didn’t hate it and would watch again if it was on.

Movie #3- The Wedding Contract
I loved the fun drawings during the cute opening sequence, showing all the dates they went on as a couple before they got engaged. I thought that was a fun fresh take!
I didn’t enjoy the gym program Adam was promoting. Basically stating you need to workout to look more attractive to find a partner. Plus, the guy married his personal trainer 😬 As a personal trainer that is frowned upon dating the clients, not professional. I also don’t like the pregnancy stereotypical eats all the time troupe. Having just had a baby that’s not necessarily accurate. Also she wouldn’t be eating deli meat usually frowned upon for listeria reasons.
This movie had a lot of wedding planning going on which is not interesting to me at all. I did enjoy seeing the Jewish families planning a wedding as that was mostly new things for me to learn. It was just a really slow moving movie.
Overall this movie felt like four hours. I enjoyed seeing the Jewish traditions but think there are probably more entertaining movies out there about Jewish weddings.

Movie #4 Make Me A Match
This was such a fun original Hallmark movie. I love the leads fun bantering chemistry. I enjoyed the mother to the male lead in this movie. She brought such a grounded, strong presence to the movie. The representation of Indian culture was so great to see. I enjoyed learning about the traditional Indian weddings. I loved the Vedic astrology, discussing gunas, chanting shanti, shanti, shanti (which means peace) worked for me!
I enjoyed the app vs matchmaker element to dating. Trying to figure out how to make it modern but still leaving in the elements of matchmaker quality.
The actual date montages worked for me they were fun, quirky and just enough screen time so they could focus on the actual love story developing.
Those last 30 minutes really hit Vivi hard, when it rains it pours. But thankfully Boom is there to comfort her. This was my favorite movie from the June wedding series this year!

Hallmark Mysteries & More Podcast
Will Kemp shined in this role. He provided great comedic timing throughout whether it be with his dancing, accents, or physical comedy. I thought the slight comment about using his English accent was a great nod to the Christmas movie he did last year where everyone was upset he didn’t use his British accent.
I loved all the murder mystery references used throughout the movie. I also laughed out loud several times during this movie with quick one liners and physical comedy. Malta was of course a gorgeous backdrop for this movie with everyone wearing very crisp high fashioned outfits to boot.
Now things that weren’t my favorite. I think some of the magic of the mysteries is getting to know the townspeople. The supporting cast that will there in future movies. That’s why Cabot Cove episodes of Murder She Wrote are always a fan favorite.
I enjoyed Lacey and Will together but the actual mystery itself wasn’t my favorite, plus I’m not a big fan of the dancing movies 🫣 I also thought there was too much investigative talk with potential suspects that slowed down the movie.
Now I will say the water dancing scene was 🔥 for not being a dancing movie fan. That scene really was beautifully shot and brought the chemistry between the leads. Then the dream scene right after wasn’t needed in my opinion.
Overall I would take another mystery but this one wasn’t a favorite for me yet. It’s a like but not love.

This is the first movie where I feel a billion years older than the cast of a movie 😂 so that took me half the movie to move past I’m not going to lie..😬 they all looked so young.
Steve Basic (the hard nosed detective) was wonderful and loved seeing him back in a Hallmark movie. Him and Marilou were my highlights from this movie.
I think if you enjoyed the original series this might be a tougher sell for you, like it was for myself. The casting didn’t quite lineup to the original characters. I think Aurora was played a bit too intensely in this movie. Candace played her intense but added on elements of softening and playfulness. Maybe she softens as she gets older 🤷🏼♀️
I really enjoyed the retro diner which I think was used in Garage Sale Mysteries 🧐
The actual mystery was a bit confusing as of the motive and all the moving parts.
Overall if you think of this as a completely separate series from the original I think you might enjoy it better. I need another movie or two to get used to the new characters and see if it settles down for me.
